Still reeling from a series of profound personal losses, Kyonté had just launched his company, 7OUTH7IDE7UN LLC, and was beginning to reemerge into the world only to be halted by the global COVID-19 pandemic. As society shut down, he was forced back inside and inward. "WALLS" was written and recorded during a time when nothing felt certain except his faith. Its soulful resonance and acoustic feel reflect that stripped-down, raw honesty that comes from deep solitude—and gratitude.
Turning inward, Kyonté embarked on a journey of deep self-reflection, embracing life’s challenges and navigating the peaks and valleys that shape who we become. Through his relationships with friends, family, loved ones, and associates, he held up a mirror to himself. What emerged was a greater appreciation for the events and conditions that open the door to awareness, ascension, and evolution.
